Although Budi and Gracia come from a Medanese background, attended the same high school (SMAK 1 BPK Penabur), and lived in nearby neighborhoods, they only met in Hong Kong in 2015. Gracia entered HKUST as a freshman, while Budi was in his second year. As a Computer Engineering student, Budi bonded with Gracia, who was studying Information Systems and Finance, over their shared Indonesian identity. They occasionally hung out with the same group of friends and even traveled to Korea together in 2017.

Their love story began after Budi graduated and returned to Indonesia. In 2018, Gracia interned in the same building, and Pacific Century Place became the backdrop for their early relationship alias Cinlok. They officially started dating in 2019.

Their typical dating life revolves around exploring food, discussing work, scheduling study sessions, and sharing interests in finance and technology. Budi often drags Gracia to investment-related events, while Gracia invites Budi to meditation and mindfulness gatherings.

Over their six years together, they’ve supported each other through various phases—transitioning from students to corporate professionals, and even taking risks to pursue their aspirations (Budi out of practicality, Gracia driven by idealism). With encouragement from family, they ultimately decided to take the next step in their commitment: #BUDIseGRAberJUANG
